Aye dil hai mushkil jeena yahaan, zaraa hatke, zaraa bach ke, ye hai Bombay meri jaan..................... For every Indian, the Great Bombay (Mumbai) has long been the land of dreams. People from different states and cities came to Bombay in the aspirations of living the metropolis lifestyle, gaining money, and becoming actors. While this may not be the case today, let us travel back in time to see what Bombay, the land of dreams, was like. In the 1960s, Bombay was the brightest star in our country at the time, it was this age that saw several transformations that shaped this city of dreams.

In front of the Arabian Sea the towering Gateway of India, a city landmark that represents Bombay's grandeur and welcomes visitors to its shores, stood tall. The Victorian Gothic architecture of the city was also represented in the Victoria Station (now Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus) a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its elaborate carvings, pointed arches and minute features creating a feeling of timelessness and grandeur.
